I somehow just consistently get to work with amazing people, and I'm quite thankful that train hasn't slowed.

But Candice (and her husband Daniel) has darn neared messed up the whole system by being so doggone great that I've almost felt spoiled.  If you've seen any of my other recent posts, you've likely read a few of the many reasons why she's amazing and they're just the very best kind of people.  Being able to document the last year with them has truly been an honor, and thanks to their fun loving attitudes and badass sidekick pup, a total blast in the process.

Much love and many thanks to Candice for being such a killer sport through her nature and adventure inspired bridal session :)

And thanks as well to Flower Vibes for the killer bouquet!

And if you're here for the first time, make sure to visit their engagement session and wedding story!

After a few months of traveling and being away from the blog, I'm excited to start sharing new sessions again!   Many many posts to write and stories to tell, but for now I wanted to share this engagement sneak peek as my first jump back into things :)

Whitney and John are two awesome, laid back, people-loving folks who have just been super cool to work with.   We had a blast shooting their engagements out in Magnolia, and I'm beyond pumped to be photographing their wedding later this year!

I had the pleasure of working with Jennie and Austin the other day on a cold and quiet afternoon in Magnolia.  They are so obviously in love, and it was such a blast to capture that and hang out with them for a few hours - the whole session just flew by with a hefty portion of laughing in between.  I'm so excited for the two of them, and can't wait to be a part of their wedding day. :)

Side note: We were joined by Jennie's two Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies, who were so adorable that I literally hurt inside when I saw them.   I even had to take a few photos of them just hopping and bumbling around everywhere (they were too young to know how to run yet).  Amazing.

Thanks to all of you awesome people for not hating me through this few month absence - I'm glad to say that I'm back in the states!  Details and travel photos will surface eventually, but for now I couldn't think of a better way to catch up than to share this super rad engagement session.

First off, important things to note:

Austin and Veronica are borderline annoyingly cool.   They're backpackers, travelers, huggers, awesome music taste-havers, and have a habit of just being super enjoyable.  For 6 straight months they hiked the Appalachian Trail together for crying out loud.  My kinda people.

All that is to say, I love these two and everything they're about.  We set up their session to be just like them:  off the cuff fun, with a heavy dose of hiking and the outdoors.

I hope you enjoy these as much as we enjoyed shooting them!

They have since been married (congrats you guys!), so I'm including a handful of those too  :)

Sharon is super rad - she's a complete goofball, avid horse rider, and video game enthusiast along with her awesome hubby Richard (congrats you two!).   She's a total sweetheart, but also someone who isn't afraid to get out in the country and get a little dirt on her boots.

When we talked about doing bridal portaits, she mentioned wanting to do something a little out of the box:  a super informal trash the dress style session (don't worry, she used a different dress) involving two of her best equine buddies.  Heck yes.

Those few hours were far from serious, and became mostly filled with hilarious moments and terrible puns ("Nothing like horsing around through some bridle portraits, hurr hurr").

I hope you enjoy looking through these as much as we enjoyed making them!

* Fun note for internet frequenters:  The photo of the horse and her yawning went viral a few months ago and made it to the front page of Reddit :)
